Founder and lead advisor, Ifran Nabi, has worked extensively with the IRD and within a specialist tax boutique firm that had more than 1,000 accountants and lawyers as clients across New Zealand. Ifran is also an active property investor. Now, we bring this expertise directly to you, providing customized solutions to suit your business and personal needs.
About Ifran Nabi
Welcome to MyTaxMate! My name is Ifran Nabi, and I’m the founder and driving force behind this accounting firm dedicated to simplifying tax and accounting for individuals, businesses, and property investors in New Zealand. With over 18 years of professional experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help my clients navigate the often-complex world of tax and financial management.
My career began at the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), where I spent over a decade honing my skills in Investigations and Legal Services. This experience gave me deep insights into New Zealand’s tax laws, compliance requirements, and how to effectively resolve tax disputes. I spent a large part of my time at IRD working on complex tax avoidance cases which included representing IRD in the Courts and successfully obtaining freezing orders on trust property.
I later joined a specialist tax boutique firm, whose clients included over 1,000 accountants and lawyers across the country. I routinely provided strategic and technical advice to accountants and represented their clients in disputes with IRD. I also provided expert opinions on insurance cases against accountants.
At MyTaxMate, my extensive experience allows me to offer a unique perspective and level of service that sets me apart from conventional accountants. Having worked at IRD and advised countless professionals, I approach every client’s situation with deep insights and a strategic mindset that few in the industry can provide. When I’m not crunching numbers or crafting tax strategies, I enjoy spending time with my family and get out on the football field as much as I can, whether that involves coaching the boys or have a kick about myself, as much as my knees allow. I’m also passionate about property investment and enjoy exploring ways to create financial freedom for myself and my clients.
